Rauelsson's follow-up release after 2013's critically-acclaimed Vora LP on Sonic Pieces. Ekō is a multimedia project comprised of a photography exhibition, accompanying music, and a website that ties everything together -- all inspired by Raúl Pastor Medall's 2012 and 2014 tours of Japan.
This two-song 10" is the companion piece to the photo exhibition and website. Each copy includes two photo inserts (with liner notes and info on the reverse sides), a postcard, and a download card with full 20+ minute versions of the songs. The inserts, postcard, and download card were all created with a Risograph printer at Lentejas Press Studio in Barcelona.
Limited/numbered edition of 300. Design by Bijan Berahimi; covers screen printed by Rob Jones/Jealous Butcher.
While supplies last, each order includes a screen-printed folder that contains 13 Riso postcards featuring photos chosen by Raúl from the exhibition.
I came across this album on the ambient show out of Australia called The Quiet Space. Like others, I was immediately struck by the cozy yet forlorn atmosphere of the entire work. I’ve listened to it dozens of times, and it never gets old for me. A quintessential late night soundtrack for intimate solitude. Michael K. Gause
